Bright modern café interior with oak tables and stone walls

Independent café-restaurant

Quiet luxury on Limekiln Yard

A considered daytime kitchen in Southville — filter coffee poured properly, a short menu that moves with the week, and a room designed for lingering.

The room

Breakfast into lunch, without hurry

We open early for porridge, cultured butter and soft eggs, then ease into soups, salads and a few hot plates until mid-afternoon. No evening service. No online shop. Just the kitchen, the light, and whoever walks through the door.

Take the settle by the far wall if you need quiet. The yard-side tables catch the afternoon sun.

Carefully plated brunch with soft eggs and greens

This week

Three specials on the board

Seasonal plates written up each week. The standing menu stays; these three change.

Leek & cider soup

With soda bread and cultured butter. A bowl for grey Bristol mornings.

Smoked mackerel on rye

Pickled cucumber, soft egg, and a spoon of horseradish cream.

Brown butter apple cake

Still warm around three o’clock, if the tray lasts that long.
